“TUPE MKONO MTAA KWA MTAA”: CLEAN STREETS FOR A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

The objective of the Tupe Mkono Mtaa Kwa Mtaa campaign is to mitigate the impacts of climate change and promote environmental sustainability by educating communities about the importance of proper waste management. The program aims to organize street clean-ups, conduct educational sessions, and raise awareness about the harmful effects of trashes, specifically plastic bottles and bags, on agriculture, health, livestock keeping, and nature preservation.

WHAT WE DO:

1. Education and Awareness: We conduct educational sessions and awareness campaigns to inform communities about the detrimental effects of improper waste disposal. We emphasize the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling.

2. Street Clean-ups: We organize regular clean-up events, engaging volunteers and community members to remove litter from streets, public spaces, and water bodies.

3. Waste Management Workshops: We provide workshops on proper waste segregation, composting, and recycling techniques to encourage sustainable practices and reduce the amount of waste reaching landfills.

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLES:

1. Fundraising Volunteers:

- Plan and execute fundraising initiatives to support the Tupe Mkono mtaa kwa mtaa project.

- Organize fundraising events such as charity runs, or crowd funding campaigns.

- Collaborate with local businesses, organizations, and individuals to secure financial support through sponsorships or donations.

- Create compelling fundraising materials and communicate the program's objectives and impact to potential donors.

- Keep track of donations and maintain transparency in financial transactions.

2. Event Organizers: Coordinate and facilitate street clean-up events, ensuring all necessary logistics are arranged.

3. Education and Awareness Volunteers: Conduct awareness campaigns, educational sessions, and workshops, educating communities about the environmental impacts of trashes, specifically plastic bottles and bags, and promoting responsible waste management practices.

4. Advocacy Volunteers: Engage with local authorities, policymakers, and stakeholders to advocate for improved waste management policies and systems.
